Choosing the Perfect Projector for Your Small Apartment

Living in a shoebox studio apartment presents endless challenges, particularly when it comes to entertainment. Forget sprawling home cinemas; my 19-inch TV often felt like a miniature peephole into the world of movies and shows. Craving an upgrade, I set my sights on projectors, inspired by those dreamy Instagram walls with cinematic landscapes splashed across them. But hold on, getting to big-screen heaven wasn’t as smooth as scrolling through Instagram. I ended up trying 3 different projectors. My first projector lacked a zoom feature, transforming my wall into a comically oversized screen that ate into my meager living space. The next projector I tried was a blurry mess, refusing to…

New Art Print: Rose Garden at Dusk

Check out the newest addition to the Geminiinthesky Society6 store! I couldn’t resist photographing the beautiful roses during an evening walk the other night. I could smell them from a block away. Even the turkeys roosting in the nearby trees were gobbling about them. :-) We have high quality art prints on canvas and paper, tote bags, a variety of cases for your iPhone (or other mobile devices), notebooks, pillows, laptop sleeves, mugs, and more. Society6 is doing a great job of providing an assortment of products. Heck, I’m starting to buy my clothes from different artists on the site. (Should I do a haul???) Check out my shop and…

    Simple spiced caffe mocha recipe

If you’re anything like millions of other people around the world, you love coffee and drink it every morning. While I do enjoy a good specialty drink from Peet’s or Starbucks, oftentimes they are too sweet for my liking or not strong enough. I’ve always found I enjoy my coffee much more at home because I have more of a choice as to what ingredients are used.  This super easy spiced caffe mocha recipe allows you to add as much (or as little!) sweetener and spice as you like. Spiced Caffe Mocha Recipe ingredients: I’ve found it’s easiest to sprinkle the cinnamon and nutmeg into the bottom of my coffee mug and then add the almond milk.…

New art print: Foggy Forest in Squamish BC (+ free shipping till 10/30!)

I recently returned from an annual trip out to Vancouver, British Columbia. During this particular trip, we headed up the Sea to Sky Gondolas in Squamish BC. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the foggy forests were from the top of the mountains. Heck, even from the parking lot the scenery was gorgeous–snowcapped mountains and forests covered in fluffy clouds. My Nikon D5500 DSLR camera came along with me to Canada this time, so I will be posting several more art prints to my Society6 shop from this year’s trip to the Pacific Northwest. Currently, Society6.com is holding a sale where everything (art prints, canvas prints, iPhone cases and skins, tote bags, greeting cards,…

Henry Cowell Redwoods: Why You Should Camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains

Every summer I like to do at least one camping trip. Over the years I’ve fallen in love with two California State Parks: Henry Cowell Redwoods and New Brighten Beach. If you’ve never been to Santa Cruz county, I highly recommend it. Both parks offer beautiful views–Henry Cowell is in the redwood forests of Felton and New Brighten Beach is along the coast in Capitola. Aside from the views, I really like that you’re never really roughing it–both campgrounds have running water, restrooms and coin-operated showers. They’re also not far from civilization if you forget to pack something. This year I camped at Henry Cowell. Usually my camping trips happen during the 4th…
