A few tips and tricks when using this lavender syrup recipe:
- Not all lavender is suitable for consumption, so make sure you use culinary grade lavender. I order mine online and usually buy lavender sourced in France.
- Don’t steep for too long! Depending on the lavender, it should only take 5-10 minutes max to steep. If you over steep lavender, it starts to taste bitter.
- Since the lavender syrup is sticky, I recommend using a bottle spout to help pour your syrup without it running down the bottle. I’ve found that the ones made for liquor bottles work perfectly. It also helps you more accurately control the amount of syrup poured out if you need to measure it.
